Summer Jobs Build Character

Posted by Beth Stevens on

Summer in my family has always been about glorious days spent by the ocean.  However, the minute you turned 15 and were eligible for working papers, you were expected to turn-in some of your beach time, in favor of a summer job.  I had quite a variety of Summer employment over the years: parking cars and checking beach stickers in the town lot, waitressing at a clam shack, making gourmet coffees at the Coffee Shop, working in a small clothing boutique; none of the jobs were glamorous, but all of them taught me valuable life lessons. Humility was at a premium when it came to those summer job years!
